Getting Started

​

Joining the club is a simple process. First, go to OrgSync and join the UM Rock Climbing Club and Federation of Club Sports (FCS) pages. Under the FCS page, find the forms tab. On the forms menu find the Club Sports Participant Form. Complete this form in its entirety and submit it for approval. Make sure to have your health insurance information available while filling out the form. Finally, fill out the digital waiver on X-treme's website.

The next step is to join us for our weekly meetings in front of the Mahoney and Pearson residential colleges. These meetings take place at 6 PM every Friday during the school year unless notified otherwise. At the meetings find a club officer to whom you will give some basic information and pay dues of $50 for the semester or $90 for the year (dues may vary from year to year). If you absolutely cannot make the meeting we will gladly find another time to meet with you to get you going.

Once you have completed both of these simple steps you are officially a member of the club! All new members will be required to go through belay training or a refresher to show the e-board that you are a competent and safe climber before you do any rope climbing.
